You may remember that I recently wrote a post called A female perspective on the direct approach, where I gave numerous links from a variety of sources where real women shared their views on the direct approach. The result was that the vast majority of women said they prefer men being direct with them, and that it turns them on when men are direct.
So, to get a balanced perspective on the way women really want to be approached, Mike will discuss what women think about pick up artists. The point of this post is to clear up once and for all that women don't like pick up artists and that they really do prefer direct men. Also, many women are aware of PUA techniques and tactics now and are starting a backlash against PUAs and the seduction community.
As result PUA material is now even more ineffective than ever (it always was very ineffective, but now it's beyond a joke), which is one of the many reasons why you need to be direct and honest instead. So, it's now over to Mike for the rest of this post...
What Do Women Think Of Pick Up Artists? by Mike
My opinion on PUA is in fact not particularly important, despite an overwhelming amount of pseudo-scientific nonsense; as well as my personal dealings with it which have left me bitter and angry (which I will cover in a future post). No, the opinion that REALLY matters is that of the ‘targets’, or in normal English, women. What do they think not of indirect approaches, but specifically of PUA ones?
It is only fair that after linking various women’s opinions on being Direct in order to attract them, we have to be diplomatic and look into the negative opinions women have about men being direct. I mean, PUA is just as valid a means of attracting and picking up women as being upfront and direct, right?
My searches included terms such as ‘Why women love Pick Up Artists’, ‘Women hate direct men’ and similar of that nature. Fair is fair and it’s about time direct came under scrutiny – we don’t want to become all cult-like and fundamentalist in our beliefs now, do we (despite my open hatred of ‘The Game’ and ‘PUA’, who’s to say my opinions may be little more than basic ad hominem and driven by personal bitterness)
What I got in return was a page about ‘How to outwit a pick up artist’ on the first search and the latter returned traits they hate about men in general, the most common being leaving the toilet seat up.
So… that search didn’t go too well aside from stuff written by female PUA coaches, who I’m sure aren’t biased in any way, but for the purpose of this article, it’s a barely relevant aside. Plus being coaches there is a risk of there being an under the surface agenda. I’m sure there isn’t, but just in case we’ll skip that – their articles can be viewed by Googling the first search anyway if you want to give them a read.
So, having found nothing that suggests that women really like Pick Up Artists, I wondered what they REALLY thought of them. Well I searched that and was greeted with this charmingly titled article:
Followed by this one:
Oh dear, this woman either doesn’t like it very much, or she has one hell of a tough ‘bitch shield’. Maybe she doesn’t know herself and is presenting herself as a ‘challenge’. Oddly she mentioned that perhaps the guy could have just said he fancied her, but she doesn’t know the rules – you NEVER reveal your intentions right away! She must be ignorant of what she REALLY wants… Maybe she’s an exception to the rule, so maybe some further searching will yield up a positive female response…
Oh dear… not a very positive response from her either. I always thought the neg was foolproof. It didn’t work for me when I tried it years ago but I guess I needed to spend another $1000 on a negging expansion pack after forking out $2000 on the original product (don’t worry, I didn’t really, I’m just being sarcastic). The ending to this article was a particular surprise as I always had it in my head that this guy was a MASTER!
OK, let’s get the opinion of a woman who actually sat in on a seminar as a means of being a ‘test dummy’. She should know, having witnessed a proper seminar just what this stuff is REALLY all about. This is not a bad industry, it’s just occupied by an exception of unsavoury individuals.
Hmm, “Harmful”. Interesting assessment. I’m starting to lose faith in this PUA stuff now. But wait, aren’t these women just part of the media and fuelling a feminist agenda? What do ‘real’ women online think of this? Let’s see…
So there you have it, women HATE pick up artists as a general rule. The best feedback for it I have seen have been from female pick up coaches (one of whom was obviously turned on when she was confronted by Mode One author, Alan Roger Currie therefore discrediting herself) or female fence sitters who generally seem indifferent but ultimately still conclude that there are better ways to get their attention.
As if there wasn’t enough reason to attack the industry from people with common sense, we now have the opinion of the people this is about. A beautiful woman, whether she likes it or not, deserves to be told that she is desirable – we’re an animal species, and are the only ones that make mating so incredibly difficult. And girls get fed up when it’s difficult too, mainly as a result of your ‘gaming’. A blog post by a woman in fact mentions why it is better being direct (with some backing from a psychotherapist to boot).
Just remember: whether your relationship lasts a night or several years, put the fucking toilet seat down!
